The ‘Embryo ART’ Unit provides all the necessary services to couples needing assisted reproduction of any type. More specifically, the services provided by the Unit include the following:
- Interview, clinical investigation, consultation, determination of appropriate treatment.
- Ultrasonographic surveillance of ovulation induction and controlled ovarian stimulation protocols.
- Blood sampling for hormone evaluations.
- Intrauterine insemination (homologous-heterologous), after sperm preparation.
- Oocyte retrieval.
- In vitro fertilization (classical), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
- Assisted hatching (a useful technique for women of advanced age or with a history of multiple IVF failures).
- Blastocyst culture (especially useful for couples with multiple IVF failures).
- Embryo transfer (performed under ultrasound guidance and with the use of soft transfer catheters).
- Embryo cryopreservation.
- Egg cryopreservation (for women who are going to receive chemotherapy and for those who are not planning to have family in the near future).
- Pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (for couples with known gene (like cystic fibrosis, b-thalassemia etc) or chromosomal disorders or with multiple IVF failures or miscarriages.
- Hysteroscopy (diagnostic and micro-operative) using the unique minimal invasive vaginoscopic technique without cervical dilatation which allows for treatment of micropolyps, adhesions or uterine septa).
- Sperm retrieval using MESA or TESE techniques in cases of azoospermia.
- Infertility counseling sessions by specialized psychologist.
